A Family Tradition
Wok Dong is rooted in family, culture, and a passion for great food. Our founder, Michael Dong, was born in Colombia to a Chinese father and a Colombian mother, then raised in Chicago, where he embraced all three cultures. Alongside his wife and their young son, Tian, he created Wok Dong to share the vibrant blend of Chinese and Latin flavors that shaped his upbringing. His father contributes authentic Chinese recipes, while the rest of the family brings a Latin influence.
A Fusion of Flavors
Founded in 2025, Wok Dong was inspired by Michael and his wife’s memories of the bold, comforting Chinese flavors they grew up enjoying in Colombia. Our menu stays true to classic Chinese recipes, prepared in the unique style found across Latin America. Every plate reflects the flavors and techniques that made Chinese food a beloved staple in Latin households. Wok Dong is a celebration of tradition, served in a warm and welcoming space that blends Chinese design with the inviting spirit of Latin American hospitality.
